Cocoon welcomes a new group almost every week, and asked me to take massage bookings off the paper sheet at reception, where every booking waited on someone remembering to confirm it by text. This app replaces the sheet: guests book from a tablet or their own phone, therapists confirm on the same live board, and it grew into the booking app for everything Cocoon offers.
Strategy
No accounts and nothing to install. Guests enter a shared code and book in a few taps, a free therapist claims the booking and confirms it, and changing the hour happens in the same place, so nothing waits on someone remembering to text back.
It started as a massage app and grew into the booking app for the whole center, split into Nurturing yourself and Have fun: massage, astrology, osteopathy and craniosacral next to horseback riding, surf, paddle and kayak. Whatever Cocoon runs itself uses the same booking form and lands on the same board. Whatever an outside partner runs shows a description and a number you can copy in one tap.
The manager edits offerings, descriptions, contact numbers, therapist photos and bios without touching the code. New Group archives the board for the next arrivals instead of deleting it, so the numbers keep counting across every group.
Design
Type, colour and spacing follow the Cocoon website, so the booking board reads as part of the retreat instead of a tool bolted on.
One list, ordered by date with today at the top: name, hour, duration and a coloured status. Nothing to filter, nothing to search.
At reception it runs on a tablet. On a guest's phone the status shrinks to an icon, so a whole booking still fits on one line.
