Booking & quiz

Migration

Anica had clients who trusted her hands and a practice that lived in her messages, and she asked me for a way out, because every booking began with the same questions answered one at a time. I built her brand and her site from the first conversation: an identity grown from the five elements, a quiz that asks what she used to ask, and bookings that arrive while she's in session.

How it got there
Anica Cortez Healing, a hand held out to the sunset light

Anica had clients who trusted her hands and a practice that lived in her messages. I built her brand and her site from the first conversation: an identity grown from the five elements, a quiz that asks what she used to ask, and bookings that arrive while she's in session.

Strategy

1
Her words before any design

We started with two conversations, about who she works with and why, and about what the site had to do. The five natural elements came out of it, and everything on the site grew from there.

2
A quiz that asks what she would ask

The questions she used to ask one person at a time, answered before anyone writes to her. Each answer points to one therapy and its calendar.

3
Hers to keep

The site moved off a paid platform onto files in her name, so the monthly bill stopped and nothing is rented.

Five answers, one element, a day in her calendar. Nobody had to write a message.
Each therapy has its own element, its own colour and its own page.

Design

1
Five elements, one identity

Earth, water, fire, air and ether each have a colour, a symbol and an illustration. A visitor learns her language just by scrolling.

2
Celtic roots, calm execution

Palette, type and imagery came from one moodboard. The Celtic symbols we chose together became her five elements, and the site feels as if it grew there.

3
Movement that breathes

The hero moves slowly, the way her sessions do. Everything else stays still so the words can land.

Before and after

A year after launch, I went back in. Same brand, same photos. The site was beautiful and still lost people between “I want this” and “I booked”.

1
She knows it's for her in three seconds

Before writing a word, I took Anica through 38 questions about her work. The answer was one person, and now the headline speaks to her.

Before: Reconnect with your true nature After: Bodywork for women who never switch off BeforeAfter
2
Booking stays on her site

It used to open TidyCal in another tab, with another look. Now she reads about the therapy, picks a day and books, on the same page. The reminders go out on their own.

Before: booking on a separate TidyCal page After: the calendar on the therapy page BeforeAfter
3
The quiz has its own page

It used to sit at the bottom of the home page, where almost nobody scrolled. The questions now sound like something Anica would say, and the answer points to one therapy.

Before: quiz with A, B and C options After: quiz with photographs and three plain answers BeforeAfter

Also new: a page for her services, a section on who it's for, the process in plain words, a new About page, and her Instagram live on the site.

I loved the intuitive way he works.

He proved to be an extremely patient person, always keeping up with my pace and respecting all my choices.

He managed to take a broader view of what I wanted, even when I myself couldn't see it clearly.
