My own portfolio, and the only migration on the list you can check without leaving the page. It was designed and built in Webflow, and it lived on Webflow hosting. It now runs as static files on Vercel, hand-edited, on my own domain, for 0€ a year.
The same move I make for clients, made on my own site first.
Strategy
Nothing people liked about the site had to change for the bill to go away. The design, the animations and the structure all came across. What changed is where the files live and who is allowed to edit them: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript now, in a Git repository, deployed straight to Vercel.
The yearly hosting line is gone entirely. At this size Vercel serves the files for nothing, so the only thing still being paid for is the domain, which costs the same wherever a site is hosted. There is no per-edit fee and no credit meter running in the background. The site is files, and files do not send invoices.
Owning the files is what lets the site grow sideways instead of being rebuilt. A five-question diagnostic, a real-cost calculator, a blog, nine case studies and a light and dark theme all live here now. Each of those was a file and a stylesheet, never a plan upgrade or a request to somebody else.
